Tackle Tip 3 - Onboard Rodholders

To solve the rod storage issue, especially while motoring thru rough chop,  I mounted 3 Berkly rod holders across the back of the boat on the beam I have for the downriggers. I then got a 2x4 piece of wood and a door whole saw to make the holders for the rod butts. I staggered the wholes so the width of the reels would not be an issue. I then sanded and painted the whole affair , mounted it on the floor underneathe the Berkly rod holders and I now have a great place to store the rods. When I’m running the boat the rods stay in their place and don’t bounce around causing damage or potentially nicking the lines.  In the background you will also see the lure pouch mounted on the back wall. I highly recommend one of these as well.
