Welcome to the Lake Ontario Tyee Club website!
The Club, officially launched in the summer of 2008, is the official listing for Lake Ontario Salmon trollers that have caught a "Tyee".
Tyee - the Chinook Indian word meaning "Chief", is also used in Canada to describe a King Salmon weighing 30 pounds or more.
Rules of entry to the Lake Ontario Tyee Club
The club is based on honor and honesty and as such the rules of entry are fairly simple. Catch a King or Chinook Salmon by trolling with a rod and reel on Lake Ontario. The fish must have been caught using legal means and the entry must be submitted by the angler that caught the Tyee.
The submission must include a photograph of the Tyee with the angler and a photograph of fish being weighed with a clear view of the weight on the scale shown in the picture. Details about the capture of the Tyee are also welcomed and will be posted with the Members submission on this site.
Members will recieve a Lake Ontario Tyee Club sticker for each Tyee submitted. In addition, this site will be the repository for all members of The Club.
